Thursdays are the new Fridays when it comes to dating, haven’t you heard?

Calling all singles! There’s a new dating app on the scene, and it’s the perfect app for people who have a laissez-faire attitude to dating. Why? Because 85.7% of the time, you don’t need to use it.

Intrigued yet?

As a dating app user, (I wouldn’t go as far as to say connoisseur), the prospect of refreshing the pool of potential guys to date is always one I jump at. Does that sound like I’ve already gone through the 4.486 million men in London? Quite possibly. And that number is men in general, let alone the heterosexual men I’d be more inclined to date as a heterosexual woman. I digress.

So let me introduce you to the concept of Thursday app. Launching on 13th May in London and New York, this brand is taking millennial indecisiveness when it comes to dating and essentially making it as plain and simple as possible. In short, the app only can be used on a Thursday to quickly match, chat, and date. Bish, bash, bosh. For those who turned off their notifications after watching The Social Dilemma on Netflix, this app is for you because it’s essentially a piece of tech designed for you to reduce your tech to one day a week as opposed to seven.

When you think about it, when there’s less time to actually match with someone you like the look of, and organise a date it makes the process not only smoother but means (for people who are terrible at small talk like me) you can cut straight to the chase and go for a drink if you’re interested. And with bars and restaurants only just opened up, why wouldn’t you want to go out and meet people after the year we’ve had? There’s also a fun twist, in a kind of Snapchat meets Cinderella way, that all messages disappear after midnight, which means spontaneity is key.

Being single has never been so exciting, and Thursdays have never been so busy.

The app will roll out to Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool, Glasgow, and Dublin later in May and other global cities this summer including Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. They certainly aren’t wasting any time on global domination!
