Testing the Intimina Lily Cup One: a menstrual cup with a difference
If you’ve not heard of Swedish brand, INTIMINA, here’s everything you need to know.
As a brand, INTIMINA strives for education, eagerness to progress, creativity, and fearlessness.
These pillars or qualities are want they want for themselves, but also for all of their customers. What’s not to love then, I hear you say?
Being someone who’s tried menstrual cups in the past - with slight PTSD from thinking I’d lost it and would have to get it surgically removed, might I add - I saw on their website that their Lily Cup One version had a new kind of pulling method at the bottom, so I took the leap, and here’s my review.
First off, it’s worth noting that the range of Lily Cups from INTIMINA are reusable and eco-friendly and created to offer confidence, hygiene and comfort during your period - they’re perfect for beginners. Things I think every women wants to hear in the worst week of the month.
What I find most interesting about this menstrual cup compared to others, is that Lily Cups were created for different stages of life and for different body needs with comfort being the number one priority.
What’s great, is that the cup can be used for up to 8 hours and they come in different sizes & shapes - yes, brands are actually listening and one size does not fit all! To use the cup, you simply fold, insert, place it and when you want to empty or remove it, you just pull on the handy loop at the bottom! Compared to my previous experiences with menstrual cups, this was so easy, it was like I’d been using it for years.
I imagine as a teenager who’s only starting to endure regular periods, this would be a great introduction into period products, given the role of comfort for the product and the fact it’s eco-friendly. If I’d used this product as a teenager (many years ago now), I think my attitude to periods and feeling comfortable may have been a lot better.
All in all, the Lily Cup One from INTIMINA have five major selling points:
They aren’t expensive (and they help to save you a lot of money spent on tampons and sanitary towels in the long run)
They are eco-friendly and sustainable, meaning you’re really helping the planet by using one.
They’re 100% medical grade silicone and don’t harm your body.
They shrink into a tiny compact pink circle, ready to use anywhere.
That easy to remove loop helps avoid potential panic stricken minutes where you can’t get the cup out.
Basically, you’d be a fool not to try one.
