Inside OVA: How Danielle and Kat Are Redefining Fertility Solutions

With one in five people facing fertility challenges, the conversation around reproductive health has never been more urgent.

OVA, the UK’s first egg health brand, is pioneering a new era of fertility care. Founded by Danielle Fox-Thomas and Kat Lestage, OVA offers clinically-backed supplements designed to safeguard egg and sperm health with transparency, empathy, and scientific rigor.

We sat down with Danielle and Kat to uncover the journey behind OVA, their mission to democratize fertility support, and why their brand is a game-changer for reproductive health.

A brand born from personal experience

The idea for OVA was born from deeply personal struggles. “We founded OVA three years ago after experiencing our own fertility challenges—recurrent miscarriage, IVF, and frustration with the women’s health supplement space,” explains Danielle, a former beauty and health editor. Kat, a wellness buyer, echoed the sentiment:

"Surrounded by ineffective ingredients, loose marketing claims, and sky-high prices, I knew consumers deserved better. After going through my own pregnancy loss, it was clear we needed products that genuinely supported fertility and pregnancy.”

Together, they developed OVA with a single mission: to simplify the science of reproductive health and create accessible, effective solutions for everyone on their fertility journey.

Clean fertility solutions: what sets OVA apart

A key differentiator for OVA is its commitment to "clean" fertility solutions. Danielle and Kat removed synthetic fillers, preservatives, and unnecessary additives, focusing only on high-quality, bioavailable nutrients.

"Our non-negotiable was creating supplements without the nasties you often find in high-street offerings," shares Kat. "We use organic brown rice flour as our only flow agent—it’s about providing purity and potency.”

A fertility brand for all

OVA stands out by addressing fertility as a shared responsibility. Their product line includes supplements for both women and men, challenging the often one-sided narrative around conception.

"TTC is a team sport," says Danielle. "Sperm health makes up 50% of the fertility equation, yet it’s often overlooked. With sperm counts declining dramatically over the last 40 years, the need for support is greater than ever."

The OVAHim supplement includes 27 bioavailable nutrients to improve sperm motility, count, and morphology, reinforcing the brand's commitment to holistic fertility care.

Overcoming challenges as founders

Launching a business in such a sensitive and evolving space has come with its hurdles. Supply chain delays, investor negotiations, and the demands of new motherhood have tested the co-founders’ resolve.

"Navigating new motherhood while launching OVA has been a challenge," admits Kat. "But being flexible—like sending emails while breastfeeding—has helped me balance it all."

Danielle credits their strong partnership as a cornerstone of their success: "Kat’s insight and calm approach have been invaluable. Surrounding ourselves with supportive people who share our vision has made all the difference."

Building a community with ‘big sister energy’

Community is at the heart of OVA. Through WhatsApp groups, Instagram, and trial cohorts, Danielle and Kat have created an intimate network of individuals supporting each other through every stage of the fertility journey.

"We think of OVA as your smartest, kindest BFF," Danielle explains. "Our community lifts each other up, shares experiences, and celebrates every success—from more regular cycles to OVA babies!"

Big wins and a bright future

A standout moment for both founders came when they secured a nationwide listing in Boots.

"Pitching to Boots’ senior leadership and hearing their feedback was validating," Danielle recalls. "Seeing OVA on shelves before our official launch was a dream come true."

What’s next for OVA?

In 2025, the brand plans to expand its retail presence, collaborate on clinical trials with UCL, and introduce new products to support women at every phase of reproductive health.

Why OVA matters

More than just supplements, OVA represents a paradigm shift in reproductive health. With products that are clinically backed, rigorously tested, and radically transparent, OVA is redefining how we think about fertility.

As Kat says, "We believe fertility isn’t a privilege—it’s a right for all. We’re here to make baby-making better."
