I decided to have a little social media detox and delete the Instagram and Facebook apps from my phone.

Humanity has never been so targeted, for almost a century! But, three months down the line, after the virus hit the globe, I realised, it’s more a story of the response generated to the aggressor rather than the aggressor.

Who knew a little plastic rod could take me on such a ride? No, I’m not talking about the latest bullet vibrator, I’m talking about my contraceptive implant. Contraception is not one-size-fits-all. It most often falls to the woman to navigate the painful process of trial and error with pills, coils, patches and implants in the hopes of finding the one with the least amount of side effects.

Day One

With no malice or discomfort or regret,

I know I must try to leave this place,

Once this is all over,

Even if I don’t know where I am going or why.

And I can,

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE my sugar. There’s just something about that not–so-good- for-you sweet treat that makes everything feel better.
