From Parks to Parlors: Georgia Borca on the Evolution of the London Picnic Club and Redefining Luxury Gatherings

In a city where tradition meets innovation, Georgia Borca has carved out a niche by redefining the humble picnic.

As the founder of the London Picnic Club, Georgia turned a simple, outdoor experience into a luxurious, bespoke event that now extends indoors. With a focus on creating memorable, high-end gatherings, she has curated a service that allows clients to escape the chaos of daily life and indulge in intimate, beautifully crafted moments. In this interview, Georgia shares her journey, the inspiration behind the club, and how she’s transforming the concept of picnics to make them a year-round delight.

Nicolle: What inspired you to start the London Picnic Club, and how did your vision of redefining luxury picnics evolve into an indoor experience?

Georgia: Starting London Picnic Club came from a passion for creating beautiful, memorable moments with a twist. The idea of a picnic is so simple and timeless, but I wanted to take that concept and turn it into something luxurious and bespoke. I wanted people to experience something more than just a meal outdoors—it had to be an occasion, an experience they’d never forget.

As we began, especially in a place like London where the weather can be unpredictable, I saw the opportunity to bring the same luxury and ambiance indoors. I love the idea that you don’t need sunshine and a park to feel like you’re in an intimate, special setting. So, we started curating indoor picnics where we could control the environment more and really focus on every detail—from the décor to the comfort, creating an experience that’s both luxurious and cosy at the same time.

Nicolle: How do you curate your high-end indoor picnics, and what elements do you focus on to create an unforgettable, intimate atmosphere for your clients?

Georgia: The heart of what we do is creating a luxury experience where the client has to do nothing but show up. Our picnics are designed to take away all the hassle—you don’t need to worry about anything. You simply arrive with your guests, and we handle everything from start to finish.

This isn’t your typical picnic; it’s about providing a high-end, effortless experience. Each picnic is tailored to the client’s preferences, and we offer a wide range of themes, from soft pinks and greens to baby blue for events like baby showers or birthdays. We’re always open to customisation like the time a client who loved beige and orange cats asked for a bespoke beige-themed picnic.

The food, whether charcuterie or brunch, is an added touch that enhances the overall experience, making the occasion feel even more indulgent and special.

Nicolle: With autumn approaching, how does the season influence the style and decor of your picnics, and what makes indoor picnics particularly appealing during this time of year?

Georgia: Autumn is such a beautiful, atmospheric season, and it naturally brings a shift in our picnic style. I lean into the warm, earthy tones of the season—burnt oranges, deep reds, gold accents—and incorporate seasonal elements like pumpkins, dried florals, and cosy blankets. There’s something about the crispness of autumn that makes people crave warmth and intimacy, which is why indoor picnics become so appealing. We create a haven from the cold, a space where you can unwind and feel completely indulged. It’s the perfect season for intimate gatherings, where people can enjoy the comfort of being indoors while still feeling connected to nature through our seasonal décor.

Nicolle: As a woman-owned and woman-focused business, how do you see the London Picnic Club empowering women, both as clients and in terms of the team you’ve built?

Georgia: Empowerment has always been at the heart of London Picnic Club. From day one, I wanted to create a space where women feel supported and celebrated, whether they’re our clients or part of the team.

Our clients are mostly women—women who are looking for unique ways to celebrate milestones, friendships, or just themselves. We love creating spaces where they can feel special and taken care of. On the team side, I’m incredibly proud that we’re entirely women-run. It’s important to me that the women I work with feel valued and empowered to bring their creativity and strengths to the table. We lift each other, and I believe that comes across in the experience we deliver to our clients as well.

Nicolle: How do you strike a balance between creating a luxurious experience and keeping the process stress-free for your clients? What role does customer experience play in this?

Georgia: The experience for our clients is everything. Luxury, for me, is as much about ease as it is about beauty. From the moment someone contacts us, we aim to make the process as seamless and enjoyable as possible. We handle everything—setup, décor, catering, and even clean-up—so our clients can simply relax and enjoy their experience. It’s about anticipating their needs before they even realise they have them. We’re detail-oriented and focused on creating moments of delight, but we also prioritise making sure our clients feel completely at ease throughout the process. It’s about giving them the freedom to focus on enjoying the event, while we take care of the rest.

Nicole: What have been some of the key challenges you’ve faced in building a successful, woman-led brand, and what achievements are you most proud of so far?

Georgia: Running a woman-led business has its challenges, particularly when building a brand that focuses so heavily on creating a high-end, bespoke experience. It’s been a learning curve to balance the creative side with the operational aspects of running a successful company, but I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built. One of our biggest achievements has been cultivating a loyal client base who trust us to deliver consistently beautiful experiences. I’m also extremely proud of the team I’ve built—seeing them grow and thrive is hugely rewarding.

Every picnic we create is a reflection of our hard work, and each one feels like a new achievement.

Nicolle: What are your future goals for London Picnic Club, and how do you plan to continue evolving the concept of luxury indoor picnics in the coming years?

Georgia: I’m always thinking about how we can push the boundaries of what a luxury picnic experience can be. We’ve already expanded from outdoor to indoor picnics, and I see us continuing to innovate launching themes like Halloween and Christmas or Elf Arrival or even through collaborations with other luxury brands, pop-up experiences, or expanding to new locations. I also want to keep deepening our connection with our community of women, finding new ways to create meaningful, empowering experiences.

The goal is always to keep surprising our clients, making each event feel more unique and unforgettable than the last. We’re just getting started, and I’m excited about where we can take this.

Georgia Borca’s vision for the London Picnic Club goes beyond a mere meal—it’s about creating moments of connection and joy that linger long after the last bite. Her passion for crafting unique experiences and her dedication to making luxury both accessible and stress-free have set her apart in the world of high-end events. As she continues to innovate and expand her offerings, Georgia remains committed to empowering women and building a community that values both creativity and care.

For those seeking an extraordinary way to celebrate life’s moments, Georgia’s London Picnic Club promises a setting where every detail is designed to delight.
