Meet Hilary Roberts, musician and all around philanthropist

Recording artist and known philanthropist Hilary Roberts just released her long-awaited, self-titled LP. The new album focuses on Hilary’s ups and downs over the last few years – whether it was success, redemption, heartbreak, or frustration. What’s interesting about Hilary though is her dedication to philanthropy and giving back.

With a turbulent past filled with trauma, survival, and terrible circumstances, Hilary is undoubtedly a strong character. It was during the darker, disease-ridden times when she turned to music. Luckily for Hilary, with support from friends around her, she was able to take her love of music and make it into her profession. Perhaps this is why Hilary is so dedicated to giving back to those in need and make a positive impact on society in every way she can.

Firstly, she started her own podcast, Let The Journey Begin, which basically sheds light on difficult conversations around life and the challenges (and victories) that are a part of it. Co-hosted with Jason Wahler, they attempt to break stigmas and taboos and offer a different perspective. When she isn’t making music, Hilary is an active member of the American Heart Association in Dallas, Texas. She works with child advocacy centres, animal rescue centres and any organisations that help the elderly. You can learn more about her amazing story via her website. In 2009 she also founded the Red Songbird Foundation which aims to help survivors of sexual, physical, verbal abuse and trauma. This is definitely philanthropy at its finest.

When it comes to music and her career, Hilary’s latest album plays host to three already-released chart-toppers, “There For You,” (charted #3 on Billboard Dance Club Chart in the US),  “Good Man”, (which charted #16 on Billboard Dance Club Chart), “Back To Life”(charted #1 on Billboard's Dance Club Chart in the US). Also on the tracklist is the song "Fight to the Other Side", also known as the song that saved the life of her friend, mentor, and survivor of Muscular Dystrophy, Annie Blake.

Following the album release, her music video to breakout song “Ringer” just released and you can watch it below
