Zing Up Your Health: An Interview with Victoria Harris, Creator of G&T ZING SHOTS

In a market flooded with health supplements and wellness trends, Victoria Harris stands out with her innovative approach to nutrition.

As the creator of ZING SHOTS, a spice-based blend infused with Lions Mane Mushroom, Harris has turned her personal health journey into a product that balances both taste and powerful health benefits. In this interview, she shares the inspiration behind her spice mix pouches, the challenges she faced, and the remarkable results she’s experienced since incorporating these spices into her daily routine.

Nicolle: What inspired you to create these spice mix pouches, and how did you decide on the specific blend of spices used in your ZING SHOTS?

Victoria: I created these initially for myself - I became slightly obsessed with ‘off the shelf’ ginger shots whenever I was out and about and then decided to try to make my own at home as they are quite expensive when you have one a day. Around £3 per shot when you buy them from supermarkets which really adds up! So I would grate some ginger, grate some turmeric root (which is not always easy to get hold of, I can tell you!) add a squeeze of lemon juice…. honestly it was all so time-consuming and messy I dreaded it. Luckily - one of my besties is a nutritionist.

After a discussion with her, she opened my eyes to the fact that the benefits of dried spices equal those of fresh, and that was my lightbulb moment. So, I did my own research, played around with the quantities, and came up with the recipe I have today. I have now been having one per day for over a year and I can honestly tell you I look forward to them. They’re such a gorgeous hit of zingy spice they really wake me up first thing in the morning.

Not only that but because I’ve also added a dose of powder in there too, any morning brain fog is eradicated. Lions Mane is big news right now with people becoming aware of its health benefits, so it seemed like a no-brainer to me to add this in as well. The Lions Mane powder I use is organic and contains 100% botanical ingredients with powerful antioxidant properties believed to help boost the immune system and improve overall health.

Nicolle: Can you elaborate on the health benefits you’ve personally experienced since incorporating these spice blends into your diet?

Victoria: Absolutely - this is the best bit because not only do I love the taste, but I’m not kidding when I tell you I simply haven’t had a cold, haven’t used my inhaler (though I only have very mild asthma) and haven’t had my usual hay fever this year either. Surely that’s not just a coincidence? That’s down to the anti-inflammatory properties of this mix of spices and the added black pepper, which helps so much with the absorption of the turmeric (by an incredible and almost unbelievable 2000%!) The antibiotic properties of the spices can boost your immune system. I think it’s fair to say that for me, that has been proven.

Nicolle: How do you address potential scepticism from consumers who might doubt the effectiveness of spices compared to traditional supplements?

Victoria: I would say that the spices I use are an all natural product. Not all supplements are. Therefore you could argue that this spice mix is far better than a supplement. What I love about the G&T ZING SHOT is that it tastes awesome which makes it an enjoyable part of the day, supplements are just swallowed - how boring is that!

Nicolle: What challenges did you face in developing a product that balances both taste and health benefits, and how did you overcome them?

Victoria: The main challenge was getting the mix just right in terms of taste, potency and benefits. The spices had to balance each other perfectly for health and the palate. This involved trial and error in terms of the powder to juice ratio. Because spices don’t dissolve you don’t want the texture to be too grainy either, or the zing to be too powerful. These were the challenges I faced, but after approximately 3000 attempts the perfect recipe was born and I guard it with my life, just like the Colonel!

Nicolle: Why do you believe it's important for people to enjoy the taste of their health supplements rather than just taking them for the benefits?

Victoria: Because food is delicious, life is short and if we can make something more enjoyable than just swallowing a tasteless pill shouldn’t we try to? I look forward to this zingy treat as part of my morning routine. I’ve never heard anyone say ‘I really enjoyed swallowing that tablet’...

Nicolle: Can you tell us more about the free trial you’re offering and what you hope consumers will gain from trying your ZING SHOTS?

Victoria: I’m currently offering a free 2-week trial pack (just pay for P&P). I would love consumers to try this and feel the same pang of happiness I do when I take one. It would take a few weeks to build up the immunity and anti-inflammatory benefits within the body, but hopefully, once their trial pack is over they would want to purchase a full month's supply and beyond, not only for the taste but to enjoy the health benefits that I’ve experienced.

With her ZING SHOTS now available for a free two-week trial, Victoria Harris hopes to inspire others to make wellness a delicious and energizing part of their day. By sharing her health improvements, she aims to demonstrate the potential of natural spices to transform the way we approach daily nutrition.

As she puts it,

"Life is short, and food should be enjoyed—so why not make your health supplements something to savour?”
