Have you heard about The Dolly Effect?

No, this isn’t a creepy sequel to the film The Butterfly Effect, although it the word ‘dolly’ definitely has horror film written all over it.

The Dolly Effect is far, far more interesting than that.

Dolly actually references the one true Dolly herself, Dolly Parton, and her enchanting confidence and persona. The Dolly Effect team describe their website as ‘a female-led and unapologetically creative events series that considers no boundaries’ With events around London focusing on the art of self-reflection and personal expression, the purpose of The Dolly Effect is to primarily inspire people in the creative industry to share their passion, be it music, art, poetry, theatre. And that is why we LOVE them.

Events typically take place in an old Victorian printworks in London’s SE1, where Ministry of Sound have created a safe space for local creatives to connect, work and play. The Dolly Effect is also co-hosted by Duzi Studio, a female-led design studio in Southwark and one of our other women in business features.

Sadly, due to coronavirus, events have been halted for the past few months, however The Dolly Effect team put their heads together and came up with a fantastic interim solution, The Print Store. This part of their website sells limited edition prints to help support freelance designers and artists during these uncertain times. The cherry on top of the cake? All proceeds from the prints are received by the artists and designers that created them.
