Why playing the trumpet is a great hobby for women

Comparatively speaking, women tend to experience higher stress levels more frequently than men. Unfortunately, stress often comes in connection with a sexist work environment, gender gap, unfair treatment, and every difficulty that women can face in their lives regarding health, age, self-esteem, financial support, etc. While this isn't to say that men live a stress-free existence, their experience differs greatly from women's.

So, when we spot a unique hobby that can not only address inequalities between men and women and tackle our stress levels, we don't miss the opportunity to praise it. As surprising as it might sound, playing the trumpet is precisely one of those hobbies. The trumpet is often perceived as a male instrument. However, the plethora of talented female trumpeters such as Alison Balsom, Clora Bryant, Ingrid Jensen, and Edna White tells a different story.

Indeed, playing the trumpet involves controlling your breathing, which is excellent practice for stress relief. Additionally, as you learn the trumpeter's stance, you also naturally build up your self-esteem and confidence. Performing at social events or just for yourself can be highly rewarding. Playing music is a proven way to boost your happiness and lift your mood, which can reduce stress. Finally, joining a music community as a trumpeter can help make new friends and find a supportive "family" who sees past your gender. Music is a fantastic empowering tool to express your emotions and release stress in modern life.
