Train journeys in the rain
If life were an ocean
I’d think it were too small,
because no matter where you fell
no one would catch you when you fall.
You’d be swallowed up whole.
You’d never see the sun.
It would be like those moments,
I’d just want to duck and run.
But isn’t it funny,
that feeling you can’t explain.
The one that sits deep in your gut;
in your soul, in your skin.
The one that renders you fearless,
The one that makes you smile,
The one that tingles through your body.
You know you can’t give in.
It is power,
it is fear,
it is a beating human heart.
It’s that one, cut throat emotion that could break your soul apart.
It is humour,
it is strength,
it is dancing all night long.
It’s that faintest tinge of doubt,
It’s knowing right from wrong.
