The new Australian swimwear brand is what you need right now

Founded by three friends from Russia who met in Bali, and decided to live in Australia, Tanmenot Swimwear is made my women who’ve had travel at the core of their lives.

Yulia is responsible for Marketing, Lara is the designer and the Head of the company as the idea woman, and Olga (who still lives in Bali) is taking care of production and photoshoots. What’s even more impressive, is that Yulia is full-time employed elsewhere, and Lara and Olga are both mothers.

Speaking about why they started Tanmenot, one founder Yulia said ‘We would spend hours on the beach surfing, hanging out with friends and having fun in and out of the ocean. The only “not so fun” part was getting burnt. For some of us it happened almost every time. We could care less though.’

A few years and crow’s feet later, the dream trio realised that that being reckless with their skin in their youth had been detrimental to their skin in later life.

Now living in Australia, the need to spend time with friends and family on the beach, means that alongside constantly reapplying suncream, there was a gap in the market for bikinis with a twist. Tanmenot swimwear covers a bit more and a bit better. The brand is creating pieces that are not just a few straps of fabric and which women of all ages and shapes can wear and feel beautiful.

The first collection is launching this month and consists of five pieces. Check them out on their website or Instagram @tanmenot
