Have You Heard About Nc’nean? The Organic and Eco-friendly Whisky Brand You Need On Your Christmas List
Introducing, Nc’nean - the female-led whisky brand you didn’t know you needed, but will no doubt be on your Christmas list this year.
In my ever growing old age, I have become somewhat of a timid whisky drinker. Obviously when I first tried the brown stuff, I thought it was quite frankly like drinking petrol, and thus shied away from ever drinking it again. It wasn’t until several years ago, when my grandpa persuaded me to try one of his whisky sours, that I had a bit of a change of heart. I was immediately sold, initially this may have been the egg white froth masking the strength of the whisky, but I’ve learned that I am a ‘whisky mixer’ kind of girl rather than a straight whisky kind of woman. Although who knows what will happen if we go into a second lockdown.
That’s why when I heard of Nc’nean, I was immediately intrigued. It’s female-led, it’s sustainable and it’s served with soda. Tick. Tick. Tick.
Made in an independent distillery, the single malt is the first whisky to be released to the public. As an organic whisky distillery on the west coast of Scotland, the whisky itself is made with renewable energy (yay for the environment), it is also bottled in the UK’s first ever 100% recycled clear glass bottle which reduces the bottle’s carbon footprint by 40% (double yay). This act alone really shows Nc’nean’s passion to protect the environment and be sustainable as a brand. Not only that, but the bottle itself is really quite beautiful, and certainly something that consumers would keep and re-use.
Described as smooth and elegant, Nc’nean Single Malt Whisky is easy-going and delicious and for its signature serve, the Nc’nean team suggest a refreshing whisky soda, breaking the perceived ‘rules’ that whisky from Scotland must be drunk neat.
