The C Word Mag’s June Favourites

We are so excited to start a new series: “The C Word Mag’s Monthly Favourites”! We wanted to share with you everything we have been loving at the moment, be it a beauty product or an exercise class!

We would love to create a community with this series so if any of you would like to contribute towards the next monthly favourite just send us an email with your recommendations! You can recommend ANYTHING (books, tv shows/movies, podcasts, makeup, skincare, an activity/sport, homeware, accessories etc…), just send it over!

  1. Little Danube Vegan and Natural Soap

Firstly, these soap bars have the most amazing smell - they are fruity but with a subtle smell without overpowering the bathroom or irritating your skin.

Secondly, they are all vegan and natural with some incredibly moisturising ingredients such as coconut, castor and olive oil.

And finally they look SO good in your bathroom and come in lots of different colours!

2. Meet You At The Barre Exercise Classes

Next on our list is Jen’s barre classes. We cannot stress this enough - her barre classes make you BURN.

Barre is a mixture of ballet, pilates and “regular” strengthening exercises. It targets the bigger muscle groups but more importantly the tiny muscles that are so hard to reach.

Jen is energetic and motivating but she is also human! She does not hide or pretend to be able to do all the exercises perfectly and she makes her classes accessible to all. She will always make sure that an easier option is available to cater for all.

All in all, go and try one of her classes and see for yourself. (You can get a free class!)

3. Exentrique Face Cleanser and Daily Moisturiser

Exentrique’s facial cleanser feels like butter on your skin. Even though it is a cleanser it does not strip your skin of any natural oils and instead leaves it feeling smooth and moisturised. Personally love to use it in the shower as a morning cleanser!

Their daily moisturiser is a great pair with the cleanser - it is fresh and rich without leaving a greasy finish. It also has some SPF in it which is great, who doesn’t love a 2 in 1?

4. “ A sense of Well-Being” podcast

If you are looking for a podcast all about healthy living and taking care of your mind, body and spirit, this is the one. The host Shayna Taylor talks about manifestation, gut health, intermittent fasting, fitness and lots more! Listening to this podcast, Shayna makes you feel motivated and inspired by her journey and tips to become a better person and live a healthier lifestyle.

5. Walter Gregor’s Scottish tonic water

Our next favourite is the Walter Gregor’s Scottish tonic water. It’s fresh, it’s tasty - what more is there to say?

Go and buy a bottle by clicking on the button above!

6. ESTRID razor

IMG_6495.jpg

ESTRID razors are by far the best we have tried. The handle is not slippery, the blades have a wide range of movement to target all the difficult areas and it comes with a pouch and a holder to stick on your mirror/shower wall.

Oh and the colours are GORGEOUS.

ESTRID work on a subscription basis - when you need new blades you can order them and customise the frequency that you receive them depending on your shaving routine.

SO convenient and easy.

7. OHANA Night Repair Face Oil

This face oil is a dream. Despite being an oil, it is refreshing and light whilst still leaving your face feeling moisturised and glowy.

The ingredients are wonderful and clean with Rosehip oil, Lavender, Blackberry Oil and Arnica Oil to heal any damaged skin overnight.

The bottle contains 132mg of CBD which is 100% natural and giving you ALL the benefits.

8. “Period. End of Sentence.” Documentary

This documentary is about a group of women that decide to start a sanitary pad start-up business in India. The short documentary uncovers the stigmas surrounding periods in India and the challenges girls and women have to face to find, hide and dispose of their period products. It is fascinating, inspiring and moving - period stigma needs to end and women should have access to menstrual products everywhere in the world. These women are truly inspiring and decided to make a change to the broken system.

9. Apérol Spritz

Our last favourite couldn’t be more accurate for the month of June. What screams summer more than Apérol Spritz? We can already imagine ourselves at a sunset bar after a long day of doing nothing at the beach… No but seriously this drink can be consumed anywhere, as long as it’s summer!
