The 3 Winter Hair Trends & Products We’re Loving Right Now
Just because we are stuck indoors until 2nd December, and in some cases around the world, for even longer, doesn’t mean that our hair can’t look great. Yes, it is technically the season for wearing hats and beanies, but screw that. I officially dub this season, the season of haircare. With that in mind, here’s my list of winter hair trends and products that we’re basically loving right now. And when I say we, I really mean me.
The lockdown fringe
I can personally vouch for this one, as on confirmation of a lockdown 2.0, I headed straight to the hairdressers to get a fringe cut. Because if not now, when? At least if I ended up looking like an idiot, I would be able to look like an idiot behind closed doors. Luckily for me, the fringe isn’t hideous, which basically means once lockdown is lifted, I recommend going forth and trying it. If not only for the extra forehead warmth for winter.
Paraben-free shampoo & conditioner
I stumbled upon two brands during the first lockdown. First up was Shea Moisture. I’d discovered these guys when I fell down an internet worm hole of The Curly Girl Method during the first lockdown. After reading reviews, I decided I’d give it a whirl. I used the argan oil and almond milk shampoo and the coconut oil conditioner. After these, I decided to branch out and try more paraben-free products, I therefore tried Umberto Giannini’s Curl collection which I LOVE. The shampoo and conditioner are easy to use and make my hair look dreamy.
Olaplex
I kind of discovered Olaplex by accident when reading a newsletter from Look Fantastic (thank you, LF team). I think I’d possibly seen it in my peripheral vision at a hair salon in the past but never really knew what it was. Basically, for those of you that have ever dyed their hair blonde, or have had highlights, this is the product for you. Luckily I have both dyed my hair peroxide blonde as a teenager and had fairly regular highlights ever since, which as you can imagine meant my hair quality isn’t the best. After using Olaplex on my roots and more wiry hair though, I’ve noticed a huge difference in the quality of my actual hairs. What I am saying is, I would ten out of ten recommend to a friend. Or just anyone on the street really.
