Embrace Sustainable Elegance with Revivre Swim

While the UK summer may be dampened by persistent rain, there's no reason to shelve your swimwear aspirations. Instead, let the drizzle be a backdrop for strutting the latest swimwear trends (even if it’s a case of strutting indoors). One standout brand that's catching my eye is Revivre Swim, a French-named, Scottish owned brand that brings a fresh wave of sustainability to the fashion industry.

The ‘Revivre’ ethos

Revivre, translating to ‘to live again’, is a brand deeply rooted in sustainable practices. Their swimwear, branded as ‘innovative and responsible swimwear for the mindful traveller,’ promises not just style but also a conscientious approach to fashion. This ethos sets Revivre apart, making it a preferred choice for those who want to make a positive impact while looking pretty darn fabulous.

“Revivre was born in 2021 when I aligned my education, passion for sustainability, eco-travel, and ethical business practices with my love for elegantly designed and well-crafted collections,” Sara explains. “We are a slow-luxury swimwear and resort-wear brand with a strong emphasis on quality, integrity, and social responsibility.” This statement encapsulates the brand's dedication to creating pieces that are not only beautiful but also ethically produced.

Meeting the visionary founder: Sara Smith

In a charming breakfast spot in Edinburgh’s Gleneagles Townhouse, I had the pleasure of meeting Sara Smith, the inspiring founder of Revivre. Over a delightful morning chat and a spot of coffee and croissants, Sara shared her journey and the vision behind her brand. Born in Perth, Western Australia and now residing on the East coast of Scotland after following her heart, Sara’s life by the ocean deeply influenced her debut collection, ‘Oceanique’. This collection aims to make a positive difference to our oceans, repurposing ocean plastics into elegant swimwear.

Sara's passion for sustainability is backed by over a decade of experience in the travel sector, where her interest in eco-travel blossomed (she still works in the industry full-time). She furthered her expertise by studying Environmental Studies at The Open University in Scotland, focusing on Sustainability & Globalisation. With this rich background, it’s no wonder that Sara founded Revivre, aligning her education, passion for sustainability, and love for elegantly designed collections.

Sustainability at its core

Each piece in the Revivre collection embodies the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The swimwear is crafted from fabrics repurposed from ocean plastics, truly giving these materials a chance to ‘live again’. This innovative approach not only addresses the pressing issue of ocean pollution but also sets a new standard for eco-friendly fashion.

All about personalisation

I recently received my own Revivre reversible swimsuit in a stunning combination of white and brown. The swimsuit came with two belt options in both colours, allowing for versatile styling which I absolutely love. The texture of the fabric is incredible—soft yet durable, providing both comfort and a sense of luxury. The craftsmanship is evident in every detail, making it clear that Revivre prioritises quality as much as sustainability.

Revivre Swim is not just a brand; it’s a movement towards sustainable fashion. By choosing Revivre, you’re not only enhancing your swimwear collection but also contributing to a greater cause—protecting our oceans and promoting ethical fashion. So, even if the UK summer is more rain than shine, let Revivre Swim be your beacon of style and sustainability.

For those looking to infuse their wardrobe with stylish yet responsible swimwear, Revivre offers a range of options that cater to the mindful traveller.
