How excited are you about Pandora Sykes’ new collection of essays?
Famous writer, thinker, fashion consultant, podcast pro, mother, and all-round female whirlwind, Pandora Sykes, has written her debut collection of essays, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Pandora is a well-known journalist with writing appearing in Elle magazine, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Vogue Australia, GQ and The Sunday Times Style, to name but a few. She is perhaps most well-known as one half of the hit podcast, The High Low, alongside fellow columnist and recent author, Dolly Alderton. In all spaces, Pandora is known for her eloquent speech and writing about all subjects, ranging from talking about Kim Kardashian, to Alabama’s abortion plan, to articles on fashion for Refinery29 and Man Repeller. You can understand, then, my fascination and need to read her debut collection of essays (out 16th July), ‘‘How Do We Know We’re Doing It Right? Essays on modern life’.
Waterstones have described the book as, ‘a collection of wise and witty essays from Pandora…[that question] the perceived wisdom of modern life and asks whether anybody really knows what they are talking about’. The essay themselves will cover a vast array of topics, whether its mindfulness and wellbeing, womanhood or consumerism in today’s society.
Some of my favourite of Pandora’s articles:
I Don’t Want To Convey Perfection Online, But Must I Bare My Soul?
The Response About Megan Markle’s Bump-Cradle, Says So Much About How We View Pregnancy
If you love those, check her out on social media too to really up the Pandora obsession. Her Instagram is packed full of arty images, striking fashion outfits and plenty of pro-female content. Which we love, almost as much as Sykes herself. If you’re more of a Twitter bird, her Twitter account has an abundance of links to great articles, High Low content and plenty of political and social opinions, as well as lifestyle, fashion, and book recommendations.
