Aneesha: When managing problem filler procedures, I start by taking a thorough patient history and, if possible, encourage the patient to take advice or obtain notes from the original practitioner to understand the product used and the technique applied. One of the main challenges is gathering accurate information, especially as patients are often understandably anxious.

A key part of the process is rebuilding their confidence and reassuring them that one bad experience doesn’t mean future treatments will be problematic. However, the increasing number of 'botched' procedures highlights the urgent need for stricter regulation in the aesthetics sector. Many cases result from treatments carried out by individuals who are either unqualified or insufficiently trained.
