4 Nighttime Rituals For A Good Nights Sleep!

Getting a good night’s sleep is key to leading a healthy lifestyle. Many studies have found that getting the suggested 8 hours sleep per night (I know, difficult once you’re absorbed into a Netflix series!), leads to heightened levels of productivity and better energy levels throughout the day, which is of course what we all want!

Here are 4 healthy night rituals which you can incorporate into your nighttime routine to ensure you get the sleep that you deserve!

 1) SKINCARE ROUTINE:

Having a skincare routine can be a good way to wind down and to prepare for sleep. Not only will it benefit your physical body and help maintain healthy skin, but it can also be a great way to take some time for yourself after a hectic or busy day. Face masks are the best way to relax, some of my current favourites are from Lush. All masks from Lush are vegan and cruelty free and can leave your skin feeling amazing and fresh!

2) DO NOT DISTURB:

I know the majority of us sleep with our phones right by our sides, prepared for texts to come through or for notifications to pop up. Having your phone constantly flashing or making noises all night will distract you and disrupt your sleep. Setting your phone to do not disturb ensures you can focus on your sleep and wake up feeling refreshed the next morning.

 3) HERBAL TEA:

Tea is a great way to prepare your body for sleep! Try to stay away from caffeine and stick with herbal or fruit teas. My personal favourite is green tea but there are so many different types of teas which have all kinds of health benefits  Currently the tea I have been loving is the Twinning’s salted caramel green tea, the flavour is a perfect balance of herbal green tea with a hint of sweet caramel, perfect to wind down with on an evening

4) 10 MINUTE CLEAN:

This tip is something I recently have begun to incorporate into my nighttime routine. It is pretty self-explanatory, take 10 minutes out of your evening to quickly tidy your room/home. Hang up all those clothes you threw on the floor in a hurry whilst you were choosing an outfit out the previous morning, take all those glasses and cups downstairs to the kitchen and even have a dust around if you’re feeling extra productive! This will ensure that when you wake up you are in a clean environment and can start your day without feeling overwhelmed with mess!
