Our July Favourites!

As part of our “C Word Mag’s Monthly Favourites”, we wanted to share with you everything we have been loving in July.

We would love to create a community with this series so if any of you would like to contribute towards the next monthly favourite just send us an email with your recommendations to info@thecwordmag.co.uk.

You can recommend ANYTHING (books, tv shows/movies, podcasts, makeup, skincare, an activity/sport, homeware, accessories etc…), just send it over!

Without further ado, here are our favourites from July:

  1. Umberto Giannini Curl Jelly Scrunching Jelly

If you love curly beach waves that look natural, this is the scrunching jelly for you. What we love about Umberto Giannini products is that they are paraben and sulphate-free, and 100% vegan, so keep your hair looking shiny AF.

2. French 75 Cocktails

Picture from @cookieandkate

Try your hand at making a French 75 cocktail with Cookie and Kate’s recipe. It’s a combo of two of our favourite drinks, gin and champagne, so you can’t really go wrong, AND the name comes from the French 75 field gun from WW1. To make this historic favourite, you’ll need gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, chilled champagne and if you fancy it, lemon peel to garnish. Mmmm…delicious.

3. Therapy by Anne Marie

We love Anne Marie. FACT. Need we really say more?

4. TOTM menstrual cup

Still using tampons and sanitary pads? Try an eco-alternative by using one of TOTM’s (time of the month) menstrual cups. It might be scary at first, but trust us, it’s worth it in the long run, plus you’re saving the planet and not putting toxins into your body. It’s a win, win.

5. Glossier Invisible Shield Sunscreen

Keep your skin summer ready with Glossier’s Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen - it’s high in protection from UVA and UVB rays, feels smooth on skin and isn’t too oily. Basically, everything you want in a good sun cream.

6. No Visible Bruises: What We Don’t Know About Domestic Violence Can Kill Us by Rachel Louise Snyder

The title of this book may be quite intense, but it’s a book that we believe ever woman should read at least once. Investigative journalist Rachel Snyder spends years learning about domestic violence in America, by interviewing families of victims and abusers, police and scientists pioneering the way to recognise and deal with domestic violence cases. A must read.

7. Fenty Eaze Drops Skin Tint

Rihanna can honestly do no wrong, and when it comes to her beauty brand Fenty Beauty, the same logic applies. We are loving the Fenty Eaze Drops Skin Tint, firstly for the huge variety of shades available and secondly for the light feel of the product on your skin. Thanks again, Riri.

8. Crystals

Whether it’s lavender lepidolite, pink rose quartz or a trio of green moonstone, black moonstone and rainbow moonstone, crystals are great to look at and provide some inner peace and healing. Recommended by our writer and spiritual advisor Staci, she believes crystals can bring a new energy or atmosphere to a room and help with spiritual growth.

9. Nailkind Candyfloss Nail Polish

Jazz up your nails this July with the newly released Candyfloss nail polish colour from Nailkind. Playful and pink, it’s the perfect colour for summer days (hopefully on holiday, if you can) with a cocktail in hand.

10. Charlotte Tilbury Primer

@ctilburymakeup is a popular beauty buy, and we know why, because the products are just great. The same can be said for their Brightening Youth Glow Primer; it doesn’t appear oily, it glides on your skin and gives your face an enviable glow. Nuff said.
